In life, we learn to walk, write, eat, and even drive. It’s time we learned to hear.
It was Jesus who said, “My sheep know my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” (John 10:27)
What He did not say was “My sheep could know my voice” or “My sheep might know my voice”. He said that we “know”. So why do so many of us live our lives as if hearing God’s voice is only available to those in leadership positions, those who are “holy” or those who were simply born with this gift and we just were not?
The reality is this:
We all hear the voice of God.
The transmissions from Heaven are all around us.His voice is what drew you into wanting to follow Him. His voice might be that fleeting thought of the friend you should call or write, the passing moment of caution while you
are going through your day or the compassion you might feel when you come across a person in need (Matt. 9:36). But how do we know that it truly is His voice? How do we separate His voice from our voice, or even that of the enemy who wants to destroy us? How can hearing His voice affect how we live our lives outside of the Church, when we live life in our homes, schools, workplaces and in our cities?
